BREAKING NEWS: Phil Jones gives Manchester United injury boost after Huddersfield defeat, Bailly and Rojo return confirmed
Manchester United defender Phil Jones left Huddersfield’s John Smith’s stadium unaided after his side’s 2-1 defeat to Huddersfield.
The 25-year-old limped off after just 20 minutes and told reporters in the tunnel that he felt something in his quadriceps.
United capitulated after Jones’ removal and Victor Lindelof was partly to blame for both goals scored by David Wagner’s side in the first half.
Jones has been a rock for Mourinho’s side this term and the Red Devils can ill afford to be without him at a time when Marcos Rojo and Eric Bailly are also out.
However, Jones gave his side a boost by leaving Yorkshire unaided and appeared to be in good spirits, according to the Manchester Evening News.
United face Swansea City in the League Cup on Wednesday before hosting Tottenham at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Mourinho confirmed Bailly should be fit for the visit of Mauricio Pochettino’s side, while Rojo is expected back to full fitness in two weeks.
